I have a Cory DCU/DCL. I have heard of people extending the dip tube, so that less water stays in the lower chamber. Can anyone share what they used to extend this, and if it had the desired effect of making the brew stronger, or any undesirable unforeseen effects. I realize they did design it to leave this for a reason, one possibly being a safety issue.

My first thought is: I'd want it to be glass, and not plastic or rubber for obvious reasons. I have a spare upper chamber, so I am willing to make a permanent change to one of them if I know it will work, but I'd rather it be removable.
