Lack of pressure in atomic
am new to this site today and live in rural nsw so not easy to take my Atomic to anyone for servicing. I have had my atomic for 10 years, bought secondhand and unused. I have used it daily since purchasing without issue. Over last week, pressure has been decreasing and hence poor coffee extraction. Grind unchanged, seals not damaged that I can see, have cleaned head by unscrewing and cleaning behind plate. I am wondering what else I should consider.....
anyone able to advise please....
It could be the pressure relief valve built into the filler cap? Google 'atomic coffee maker parts' to order a new one
From a former site sponsor and seller of Atomic replicas
It MIGHT also be the steam valve stuck open but unlikely. This post explains how to disassemble the steam valve
This item is very important for your machine: it contains the safety release valve. This valve is calibrated to the original specifications. You should periodically check/clean/service this part of your vintage Atomic style machine to ensure it is in good order- it should be replaced when worn (2-20 years depending on use). A few drops of olive oil help protect this part.
Thank you, in all my googling, that is one possibility I have not read about. Have contacted Bon Trading and I might just change the head gasket also whilst engaged in servicing myself....
