    EM6910 descaling

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    hi,
Im new to these forums, so sorry if this is a bit of a noob question.
Ive had my machine for about 6 months or so, no problems but I thought I should descale it. Step 3 in the manual says to remove the filter/screen. Ive removed the screw, but I cant get the filter off. Should it just fall off? Or is there a trick to popping it off?
    Thanks.

If you going to do a full descale...

I would remove the Anti-calk filter from the water tank as well. Just remember to put it back later.

    AM,

I did a full descale on the weekend. The manual made no mention of removing the calc filter and I didnt think of it until Id finished.

Any idea on the consequences of not removing it? Coffee tastes fine, no stomach upsets either...

Yea ... I know the Manual is lacking ;)

My only assumption is that the de scaling solution... May have a less than positive impact on the life of the Anti-Calk filter...

Interesting to call SB and see what they say ;) If they state that you should then.. I guess you could suggest they send you a replacement...

Then again, it may not be an issue ????
