    Hi LB,

Im no expert on anything much but you do seem to be overlooked.
The Ladys function should be pretty much the same as any single boiler machine, like a sylvia for instance, so any Silvia advice should be applicable, try a search read through threads like the one below or search out some *Utube Silvia videos, something may come to you

Otherwise I would say you need to provide more info, as the experts seem to be otherwise engaged.
What Espresso machine have you used previously, with success?
How long do you wait after switching the boiler to steam before you start milk steaming?
Do you have any indication that the machine begins heating once you press the steam button?

    2 possibilities here:
1 my Qs may eventually lead us to a solution.
2 My Qs may flush out an expert to let me know how niave and stupid my Qs are.

    Any bets?

Good luck mate, youve waited too long for a latte.

    Re: Brasilia Lady

i have one, but am selling as i upgraded
    great little machine, solid performer

heres a pic you can see the green light left of the buttons
    http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1242195366/0#0

on mine the steam button is on a "timer"
mine also has a green light that comes on when the steam is ready

    heres what i do
make shot and flush Ghead etc.
press steam then pour milk in jug.
wait for light then purge steam wand of water
    start steaming
when light goes out press steam button again while steaming
light comes back on (you can hear the element "boiling"
if needed press again (normally takes 3 presses)

i then wait for the light to go out before closing steam wand
but often you "time" it right so the light goes out at the end as you can keep steaming a while after the light goes.

after steaming I ALWAYS REFILL / PRIME THE BOILER

also try taking off the steam nozzel and cleaning it with a scewer etc, mine likes to get gunked up inside :(

i have a e-copy of the manual if you want it but you need to PM me your email address

    hope i helped
