    EM6910 steam pump dial

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hey everyone,

just noticed this week that my steam dial/knob on my EM6910 is not working properly in that when i rotate it to turn it on there is a little click about 1/3 of a turn into the rotation that causes it stop the steam. The knob is also loose compared to the hot water knob. I feel like its going to pop out of the unit.

the question is, is it safe to open the unit and have a look? Is it hard to get access to that area? anyone got photos?

    Cheers

    1: Where are you located

    2: How old is it

3: No need to pull the system apart...

4: Steam knob pulls straight off... Squease with left hand and then pull. If ya Right handed you may struggle a bit ;D

Then look at the main fitting etc ... With a torch you will see a small screw - Bet the little screw has become loose.

Sounds like it has rotated on the spline as well if steam is clicking off after a third of a turn. You will need to reset it properly on the spline then tighten.

    hey CKSYD,

nice one, we are building in Rouse Hill, even closer to you! how do you find your Espro tamper compared to the supplied one? Found any good local roasters or coffee shops?

By the way, thanks OlSmokey - Im fixed and functioning seemingly better than ever. I almost poured a decent rosetta after the fix too!

    Cheers everyone.

    Boots

Espro tamper is very very cool compared to the Sunny one. Sunbeam one is okay (better than many supplied tampers) but Espro, Pullman etc are a level or two above.

As for roasters, never looked. We roast our own. We are a pickup point for beanbay green/brown beans, teas cocoas etc. click on buy green/buy brown and you will find out all about it.

Good coffee shops? ;D Not out here but again dont go looking ;D

PM me Ill give you the address and you can play with the Espro. Ill explain beanbay over a nice coffee if you like.
