    Need some help with EM6910

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I was just wondering if I needed to fiddle around with the factory settings or are they good as they are??

Also can someone give me some advice... I had used grindsettings from 11-14 but still have a hard time reaching the recommended extraction time of 25-30 seconds. I keep getting the range of 15-19.
Also I thought that by adjusting the grind will help but the lower i get the more bitter the coffee becomes.

Do i just ignore the bitterness and use like grind setting 9? I am using a EM0480

    Thanks in advance guys

The taste is more important than any number on a dial.

Leave them alone until you get to know your machine (you have to crawl before you can walk); then when you want to adjust something you can try and see if you notice any difference and if that difference is something you like or you dont.

    REALLY :o

TG is correct... As has been said many times before.. The numbers and times etc are a guide... Not set in stone... People measure differently and have different system.. Then they have different beans and may want a different result in teh cup..

Do teh SB training and use teh CS search function and do lots of reading on the EM6910..

All ya answers are already here...

Adding to what the other (more experienced) CSs have advised I have found since using the same machine that I am still searching for that perfect shot.

At the end of the day Im aiming for something that tastes nice and more often than not my shots wont be exactly 25-30 secs.
There are a lot of variables (which Im slowly working through!) such as grind, dose, tamp, age of beans etc and each combination will give you varied results. Some of my shots will only last 15-20 secs before it starts to blond but if I left it it would not taste as nice.

I changed a few of the settings straight away when I got it from a fellow CSr which to be honest I am kind of regretting now as I didnt get to see the difference first, who knows maybe Ill reset them and find out....

Read up on the info here as there is a stack available for the 6910 and try varied tamping weights as well as the grind settings and find what works best for you, remember youre the one drinking it!
