With a bit of help from all the Kings horses and all the Kings men, I just have to put Humpty Dumpty together again!!!

What did the bead blast & zinc coating cost you?

    It cost about $80.

I went to two places, one wanted $120. Also got a quote for powder coating, that was $75. In the end, got it done by Kenco in Bundy. Mostly they do big commercial jobs. It is a good coat of zinc, and I was very pleased with it.

I felt my $80 was well spent.

    Nice job. [smiley=cool.gif]

Be certain to re-tap all the threaded holes before starting to re-assemble though (theyre all metric by the way).

    Hi omv005.

Have you done the same mod?

I drilled out the zinc that was blocking the holes, using a bit just smaller than the threaded hole. Then I used the screws to re-tap the the threads. I had to screw in firmly, but none of the screws stripped. The zinc is obviously fairly soft.

I have now reassembled completely and The Old Gal is now back in operation.

I have a LUCY, stripped it down and powder coated the frame. Check out some of my earlier posts for details.
