    EM6910 After Collar Replacememt

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight

Just received the SB back with a new collar fitted.

The group handle is MUCH stiffer and doesnt want to go past the 7 oclock position without really forcing - which Im reluctant to do :o

Is this normal after a repair, or could there be something not quite right - apart from the operator 8-)

    The shots seem normal.

Id appreciate comments from those who have had this repair done.

I agree.. The new collar and seal will mean teh system seals better OR your OVERDOSING.

    5cent piece test ;D

If ya can look at smoothing the step on the lugs with a dremel and and or use a little food grade grease.. I used a dash od Rice bran oil... High temp and food grade.

If ya forcing it, then you stressing that SOFT material in teh collar.

    OOPS!

I forgot to mention that the basket was empty when experiencing the tightness, so over dosing is not the cause.

New seals with often be tight at the start. This means that when you lock the group handle in to the group head, it often wont make it past 6 oclock. Dont force it - if it seals, thats all that matters! Over time the seal will start to perish and soften. The group handle will progressively make its way past 6oclock. When it becomes extreme, eg locking in at 5 oclock, its time for new seals.

Perhaps the person who repaired your machine put in some spacers which may account for the the group handle locking in at 7 oclock.
