    EM6910 problem

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
My EM6910 is not pumping water through... the steam starts off ok then cuts off into little splurts of steam. Is this a water tank issue or something greater i.e. pump?

Search CS and use the advance search function. All been talked about as well as a number of possible fixes.

Sounds like you have got some crap in ya system... Be is scale and or coffee fines from Overdosing and Choking the system.

1: How old is it ?

2: How often do you follow the correct cleaning methods etc

    Thanks for the reply.

I bought the machine end of 2007... so it is a little over 2 years old.

I do the correct cleaning methods approx every 6 months... I did it only a month ago. It was working fine a few weeks ago, I recently brought the machine back up to where I live now from my parents and set it up this morning... not working.

How is teh hot water ?

How is it with just a manual run through teh head

Could be that teh water tank is not seated correctly and or has a small air lock.

    Prime a few times.

Just to be sure, I think he meant no basket, just press manual button, does water come through the head?

And does water come out of the hot water spout?

water doesnt come through the head in general, every now and again a few drops might come through. It dribbles through the hot water spout, the steam wand starts up a bit then drops out as well.

Have you taken out the showerscreen and gasket before? I suspect it may be clogged with grounds, especially if you are overdosing.

    Re: EM6910 problem

Ill try that tomorrow... the problem is that the steam wand and water spout have issues too. They work for about the first 2 seconds and then die out... Ill try and post a video tomorrow.
There doesnt seem to be a technician nearby so I dont really want to have to deal with Sunbeam.

I tried to use the single and double shot buttons... the machine makes the start up noise then stops and all the lights on the buttons go back to standby mode (all on).

1: Make sure ya tank is full and fitted correctly..

2: Do a factory reset and then get back to us with the outcome

    PS. Where are ya located.

Steam and hot water issues imply the main solenoid and or between that and the Tank...

Tank is fine. Im located in SYD .. Eastern Suburbs. According to Sunbeam, the closest is Bondi Junction but they dont do coffee repairs. Next would be Ashfield, but thats over 30mins from here.

    Is it under warranty ?

If under warranty... Ya got no choice... If not, then it will be interesting as with no ability to get hands on.. Can not help any further.

I just did one then... didnt help. Its out of warranty, but the pump is still under warranty if it is a pump issue. Im just uploading a vid, sounds like something might be loose inside.

    Hi Melon,

Sounds like something is blocking the water from coming out. When did you last properly descale it( following instructions from the manual) and what did you use? i.e. Sunbeam tablets or some liquid solution.

Also have you ever changed the anti-calc filter? :-?

    Re: EM6910 problem

Ya got a blockage some where..

Two seperate pumps... They sound OK..

In the first instance.... NOT warranty..

Ya said it was working and then you transported and now not working..

Suggest scale / coffee grinds and or the checkvalve / tank fitting.
