Looking for a new machine and training

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi All,

Great site, great info! Im in Sydney, North Shore and looking to buy a new machine and grinder. Most probably Rancilio Silvia and Rocky doserless grinder. Im also looking to get some training. I was considering a course like that through the following places but maybe its overkill - Im not looking to be a professional barista!

mod edit- non sponsor URLs removed

Perhaps its better for me to get training from where I buy the machine? Any suggestions on best places / prices for combined package around Sydney? Have had a look at Jetblack and also Di Bartoli.

    Thanks for your advice!

    Cheers,
    Max

    Hi and welcome Max

In the first instance my choice is get some hands on & machine familiarity training with your choice of sponsor
Then if you think after a settling in period you need extra training you can then look at a structured course

Half the battle is patience & learning to work within the limits on your machine & grinder choice

Plus we are here to help ;)

Theres a top of the line Breville combo machine and grinder going for a great price in the for sale section. Its not the same as a silvia / rocky, but if its your first ever machine it would do for a year or two.

Just in case you want to check it out :)
