    Blind Filters

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Where is filter measured to arrive at the specification for a blind filter? *

The internal measurement at the top of the filter holder is about 61mm. It is hard to tell what the measurement is at the bottom of the taper using a ruler across the top but *this might be closer to 57/58mm.

I would like some tips on backflushing too.

What sort of machine do you have?
I just measured inside my Giotto group handle and it is about 61mm, but inside the baskets are 58mm, so I would hazard a guess that you would need a 58mm blind filter also.

you should tell the supplier what brand you have as some brands of 58mm handles differ.

the lip of the blind baskets are somewhat different, some seem to be rolled further around than others.

eg the one for my Brugentti does not fit my faema / cimbali which is very annoying.....

My machine is a Gaggia Classic. *
It is a hand-me down from my dear son *:).
I think the filter holder would be original.

For backwashing follow this video. Its a very simple and satisfying process :)

Same process applies for the Silvia as all other single boiler machines that have 3-way solenoid valves.
