Sunbeam 6910 shower screen - 1mm deeper on one side?

Apologies if this is a dumb question.

I noticed when I took out my 6910 shower screen that it is 1mm deeper on one side when I measure it withe a ruler. Is this normal? Is this wear?

It means it isnt sitting even with when returned to the blue seal. The machine is four months old. If this is normal, which is the front and which is the back? :-X

Sunbeam might say its within tolerance.
    It cant be wear.
Im an auditor an never noticed anything like this on the machines Ive used, so youve got good eyes.

If it wasnt a problem before you took it off, it shouldnt be a problem when you put it back on.

    What have Sunbeam said?

I just took some measurements on the outer shower screen I have here... 11.6 to 11.9 or there abouts.

1mm to me is over the top. Too big a variation, take a pic or two and see if some one can user a vernier etc and send off tp Sunbeam. New shower screen and seal :-)

However they may want it to got to an agent. If ya in Brisbane you should be ok.. Can not comment as to other states.

Re: Sunbeam 6910 shower screen - 1mm deeper on one side?

Update: Machine is in with a local Sunbeam repairer.

What is more concerning is that the machine was manufactured in June 2007. (I only purchased in April 2010). I was under the impression I was purchasing a new sunbeam 6910 with all the product iterations/improvements that have occurred.

Clearly the rewards program has old inventory in their back room. I am asking my local consumer affairs about the legality of purchasing stock that is three years old that is being passed off as new.

Also, I will let you know how I go with the repair - under warranty - and any other issues. At the very least, I will need to get a modified group head with the more gentle lugs....

Happy ending to this story. Melbourne Sunbeam repair agent agreed Id got some poorly manufactured pieces and replaced the shower screen and associated pieces. Machine has now stopped leaking and has roared back to life. Thank you everyone who helped with this post.
