    Miss Silvia (Rancilio Silvia)

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Hi all, can anyone enlighten me on a "miss silvia", Rancilio Silvia coffee machine? It is going for auction here in the Shakey Isles (N.Z), currently at $150. Its 14 months old and according to the seller has only been used weekends and is in top condition. A good buy?

    Cheers Zeke

A fantasic buy for under $500 provided that it really is in perfect working condition. Is the Warranty transferable?

I have used a Silvia for 10 years - only one fault in all that time. Good coffee, very reliable. Fantastic buy at that price.

Ask the seller if he will guarantee it is in proper working condition. That would mean nothing more than.....it heats up properly and delivers water.

This because the most common problem with a Silvia is a blown electric element ie no heat. That is not a formal warranty concern as it usually means an operator management problem.

If that is ok, bid away..... and pay whatever you are comfortable with given whatever the replacement cost of a new one is over there. No one can place a figure on that but you especially given that if bidding heats up in auctions, the bidders get carried away and usually go higher than they originally thought they would.

    Regardz,
    Attilio
