    EM6910 + EM0480 $499 from Harvey Norman

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I had to travel into town recently and dropped by HNs and was very surprised to see this combo at this price. I was tending towards a better unit after recently becoming re-invigorated and inspired to make better coffee with my 4 year old Sunbeam EM4800c.

At any rate at this price I couldnt pass and picked up a set for myself. Right now I couldnt think of a better bang-for-my-buck combination. Of course I know what Ive bought based on reading this forum. So thank you to the collective wisdom of so many people who have posted and argued and shared their ideas - I couldnt have bought it without you* ;D. One wouldnt want to walk into the store and hope for the sales person to have a clue about the product.

Now I have to either learn to roast my own or start buying fresh beans rather than the old Lavazza varieties Ive been using since year dot.

    Cheers

Shouldnt take any time at all to learn to roast your own with a popper.
My first batch was roasted and resting within 30 mins of the green beans being delivered.

You never stop learning more though, so over time your roasting technique will improve.

But I recommend against roasting unless you can do it outdoors or in the garage, it is not an indoor activity, IMNSHO.

Yes Ive been getting that kind of vibe about home roasting - something to down in my shed I think for sure!

Ive been pleased with the results from the Sunbeam so far. Im certainly looking forward to getting my results up to the standard the dvd demonstrates is possible with this equipment combo.

    Hey Bigdragon,

Any chance you can share where you got this deal? I cant seem to find the EM6910 alone for anything less then $636.

Ive called around as well to the harvey normans in sydney west, and the cheapest price I was quoted was $636 for the em6910 alone (no grinder). They also said they knew nothing of a promo for both for $499.

I was at my local Harvey store today and they had the EM6910 and the matching grinder for $699. Thats a pretty good deal as I have been looking at this combo for a while and havnt been able to get it this low before, having said that i had plans to get a Silvia, have seen those for $720 delivered of the net and I allready have a good grinder so I will get one of those rather than the Sunbeam

I dont know what you two are talking about, I do all my roasting inside in the kitchen with my popper ;D

Oh maybe its because I do it that there is no one to complain about the mess giggled like a schoolgirl, vacuum fixes it pretty quickly ;)
