    Best manual machine $500-1500

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Hi, I am in Sydney and new to the forum. We have a Saeco Magic bought from Caffe Bianchi 14 years ago. It has been terrific but is getting quite tired and lacks pressure. We have a Sunbeam Cafe Series grinder and would like to keep that and get a quality manual machine that, like the Saeco, will last for years.
Im tempted to opt for another Saeco but the reviews are not great, and so many of the machines out now seem to have inbuilt grinders.
Any suggestions on a quality machine that fits the bill? I read about a soon-to-be-released Breville on your forum but Im not convinced that Breville makes great machines.
We make 2-4 cups a day on average, espresso and with frothy milk, and only use fresh beans from Caffee Bianchi.
    Thanks, Sandra

    Hi and welcome Sandra.

Id suggest you upgrade your grinder as well. Just moving from my Sunbeam grinder to the new Breville has made a big difference (to coffees from my Sunbeam 6910) for a relatively small outlay. It also may affect your perception of what Breville can do - and in any event, Id suggest you wait a few weeks before you can play with the new machine before making that decision.

    Welcome Sandra.

    You havent specified your budget.

Do you want to go fully automatic again or are you willing to get more involved in order to get a better coffee?

Ummm, the thread title ... ;)

Sandra, if Cuppacoffee is in your neck of the woods you can play with the grinder (and soon) the new Breville as well.

Even if it isnt, its worth the drive for a good cup of coffee (plus to take a look at the machines on display). I have driven out there a few times, and its ~1 hour from my place, never been disappointed.
