    Sunbeam EM6910 Cleaning disc

    I seem to be having trouble recently with the silicone rubber cleaning disc that one inserts into the group handle filter. Suddenly it seems it no longer is sealing properly when I try to backflush. The water just pours through the group handle. I guess its about two years old now so maybe its time for a new one. I rang Sunbeam and was referred to a local dealer, who said that hes never heard of the cleaning disc failing and that maybe there is* a problem with my machine.
    Has anyone else had a problem with their cleaning disc when they try to backflush?

    Yeah I also noticed that my rubber cleaning disc was highly temperamental.
    Some days it would work fine, while other days there was nothing I could do to get it to seal.
    I even considered purchasing a real blind filter, but was advised that it could do the machine harm.

    Well, Ive just made a coffee and thought Id try to backflush the machine; and it worked. :-? Dont know why its worked now but didnt work before. Must have been the position of the moon or the stars, or something.
    Anyway, now Ive noticed the pressure gauge isnt working. >:( No big deal, I guess. Its just that Ive become used to watching it while I make an espresso. Oh well, Ill just have to adapt.

    Ive just seen this other thread http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1307411994/3. So my problem seems to have been caused by the backflushing.
