Decisions Decisions, Rancilio Silvia Vs Isomac Maverick?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hey guys

just wanted to get some opinions on these two machines. Ive heard alot about the Rancilio Silvia and it sounds like a great machine, but i was wondering, are there better alternatives out there for around that price?

I found the Isomac Maverick but i couldnt find any reviews of the machine. Heres a link to the Maverick on the Isomac website.
    http://www.isomac.it/t_produkter/maverick.htm

    Opinions, suggestions?

A common question on this site and the short answer is no. In the ball park you have the Lelit Combo which for around the same price you get a built-in lux grinder (may be worth considering if you dont have a decent grinder yet).

Have not heard of the Isomac Maverick. After 5min of googling I couldnt even find out the boiler size, only that its bigger than the Giada, its predecessor with a 150ml boiler. Not sure if its made of copper, stainless steel or other.

I would stick with the Silvia. Its a quality machine and there is probably more information, add-ons and forum support than any other coffee machine in the world. For around $700-800 its a big step up to get something a little better (e.g. Zaffiro/Perfetta @$1500) or to a HX ($2000+).

The Maverick looks interesting but with the info provided I cant really judge. Is the Maverick even sold in Aus.?

The Maverick is available in Australia. The advantage the Silvia has over it is that the Maverick doesnt have a 3 way solenoid valve :-(
