    Suggestions and opinions

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    So
the time has come to purchase a machine. After a little research I think o will be looking at a 6910 or a Sylvia teamed with 4080 or rocky grinder. I would like the opportunity to develop my barista skills and my girlfriend has worked hospitality so is therefore a fairly dab hand at it.

So.... Does this sound like I am on the right track???
Should I be looking at anything else???

Does anyone think they may be suffering upgraditus and want to sell a set up?

    Cheers
    Christian

    Hi Christian,

Firstly, its Silvia and we know for a fact that anyone who calls her Sylvia will be scorned by the machine and destined to an eternity of sink shots.

Re pre-loved, keep your eyes on http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?board=Sale

CSers upgrade often and you wont have to wait long before one comes up...

    Good luck ;)

If it is skills you want to develop, and drink great coffee as a result then the Silvia is a better choice than the Sunbeam (IMO).

If you just want to drink good coffee then the Sunbeam would be my choice.

If you want to drink GREAT coffee, and are willing to develop barista skills as well, then upgraditis will almost certainly hit you as well. ;D
