    Sunbeam 6910 UPGRADITIS

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hello fellow CSs

after owning my 6910 for a few months i feel its time for an upgrade
My heart has always been set on the Rancilio Sylvia V3 with Rocky Combo

but after reading numerous threads and making a few phone calls

the Lelit PL041EM / K3 looks be a better alternative for similar money

    btw

Im mainly a MILK based drinkers and would rarely make more than 3 at a time if friends come over

I do prefer the rocker switches , ball arm & 58mm head on the Sylvia

    but would like everyones opinian

    many thanks in advance

    Hi Hung,

You might also consider the GEE machine with a K3- See http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1163933911/14#14 for further details.

    Cheers

    Chris

    Re: Sunbeam 6910 UPGRADITIS

    Hi again Hung

By all means, check out the Lelit, then come and see the GEE in action. I think when you see its functionality you might want to either stretch your budget or hang on to the sunbeam a little while longer till you can afford what I believe would be a significant upgrade.

    Cheers

I purchased silvia + rocky doserless ~ 2 weeks ago, love it! Only trouble is trying to get a good shot through its single basket... that and the mrs is having a moan because she struggles with her...

grab your single basket and put it in the cupboard and forget about it, use your double basket much much better and will get consistent great shots. if you can pick up seom Synesso baskets they are even better.

keep temp surfing, and experimenting and you will work it out soon enough and be getting great shots from this great machine!! ;) ;)

enjoy the journey and may ungraditis not strike too soon. ;D ;D

    Ok

I went down to Jetblack espresso with Wife and 2 kids in tow
looking to get my new Silvia and K3

after speaking to the lovely Harriet at jetblack espresso she asked me questions about my coffees etc

she then explained to me the differences between the rocky/k3, letits etc

and she also made a latte with the machines I was looking at for me also - was yummy btw

i walked home with a Lelit Combi :)

    got home set it up

I was was either very lucky as I managed to pull off a decent shot
straight off the bat and made myself a beautiful cappa ( imo anyways )

    so one happy camper here

Did you really say Sylvia and Expresso?

You will be cursed with 12 months of undrinkable sink shots now. ;)

Ya made me laugh... How often do we assume many things and when some one types in English- what do we all expect *;D * (Wrong again)

Yea you made "one latte this morning and it was soo yummy I had to have another one"and that means; one of the next two will be a sink shot * ;D

Enjoy your ESPRESSO and that machine you now use *8-)
