    Silvia OPV adjustment

Is there any difference (when measuring waterflow out the OPV return tube) between using a blind filter, and using the hot water supply with the steam valve closed? they should both activate the OPV, no?

Do you mean running the pump (middle switch) as you would to flush the steam wand but against a closed steam valve? The OPV does not appear to activate in the Silvia with this procedure and would probably lead to damage to the pump.

There is no difference, a blind filter blocks water flow the same as a closed solenoid, the OPV is mechanical and reacts to excess pressure the same regardless of how its created
