Help! Problem with Lelit Combi PID (PL042TEMD)

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hey All,

Seeking some feedback on an issue we have with our new Lelit Combi.

Pulled our first espresso this morning and steamed our milk. Was in the process of refilling the boiler as per the instructions after steam and the whole unit has gone dead. Pump not working, PID display is not illuminating and Ready indicator also not illuminating.

The power indicator on the back is illuminating and the grinder is still working though.

Any ideas as to what the cause/issue may be?

Hi schmick and welcome to CS!

Is there a troubleshooting section in the user manual?

    Hey Chokkidog,

Thanks for the welcome and yes, consulted the 'Troubleshooting' section in the user manual.

Tells me to contact the nearest Service Centre! =(

Hopefully I haven't damaged a heating element or thermostat, which is my main concern.

But seeing as the pump isn't working at all either, I'm hoping the issue is a result of a faulty machine and not human error.

I don't have a PID version, but it might be worth checking if the Safety Thermostat (more common) or Thermal Fuse (common on Nemox machines) has been triggered. If you have the more common Safety Thermostate; just see if it has popped up and push it down. Thermal fuses need to be replaced. Look here for guidance on what it looks like: MC032:Thermostat Resettable 165

    Best of luck.

    Hey All,

So went to see the team at Jetblack Expresso today, where I also purchased the machine!

We tripped the Safety Thermostat thankfully! No damage to other parts of the machine!

HUGE thanks to Jetblack for the A+ customer service! Got me back up and running in 20 minutes!

Now back to practicing until our Barista course in 2 weeks!

    YAY!
