    New set up

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    My new setup arrived today.
    Rancilio Silvia M
    Baratza sette 270
    Pullman big step
    OCD
    Naked portafilter and 20g basket

Big question is.....What are people's thoughts on a wall timer? If you really stay on top of priming is it safe to use a timer.

Sorry I meant one of the timers you can plug in to the wall so the Silvia turns on before you wake up.

Nathanas wall timers are good, but doesn't the M model turn off after half an hour? Or is it another version? I cant really remember the different versions but one does to meet eu rules.

Or you could turn on machine, turn on steam, then once warmed up the the higher temp run water through the group until it cools back down again. Worked a treat for super fast warm up on single boiler nemox (like a lelit).

The only thing is silvia group head is offset from the boiler, this may not be as effective. Worth a go.

Otherwise as long as you keep it primed (it became a habit to hit the brew switch before powering off) and your steam tap isnt leaking it should be fine.

    Cheers

Thanks for the advice everyone. Also I meant to ask about
Backflushing. I have some leftover cleaning tablets from my Breville oracle. Could I just crush those up and use them for backflushing the Silvia?
