:-? Thanks for the clever culo comments guys... ::)

Here is the new Bogav Assassin- proof that it doesnt have to be megabux to be great....

Think bogav base but in 316 stainless with an adjustable acetal handle with nicer contours. Best thing is its not well over $200, its $120 and better still, is fantastic to use....

Yes Greg, I understand that they named the Espresso Gear one in about 1999/or 2000, so I guess it should have been familiar to you *:-?

At their respective price points, I believe that they represent great value at and that they are well made, beautiful and superbly packaged as well. They will make a gorgeous gift....

As to whether theyre right for anyone, I dont make predictions. The tamper chooses the hand, not vice versa ::)

I trawled the web in 2007 before naming the Barista such and couldnt find any other tamper by that name. Even now the only hit Google gets of their product is an evilbay listing from last week, and nothing from their site. Maybe it did exist but it certainly wasnt evident.

Anyway Im not wanting to get into a war of words, I was just making an observation and its always interesting to see what designs other people come up with. Anyone whos spent time on CS should know my policy has always been to recommend people towards whichever product appears to be right for them, whether its made by me or by someone else. As far as Im concerned there is no one absolute best tamper, or grinder, or machine, or roaster... they each have their pros and cons which need to be acknowledged.

Amen to that - Ive never come across anyone whos less likely to run a product down that isnt theirs, Greg and - in actual fact - this is one of the reasons why Im so loyal to the Pullman name! *Every time I see anyone run another product down that isnt theirs, it chips ever so slightly on my brand loyalty as I live by the edict that if you dont have anything nice (or at least constructive) to say, then dont say it.

I like the look of the Assassin, Chris (especially with the silver rings in between the spacers...whit whoo!) and the new Knockbox/Tampmat is lovely, too! *The Primo Tamper is a bit masculine looking for my liking (*blush*), but I like the look of the base on it.

Overall, a really nice range and something different on the market, at least!

    Cheers
    Di
