    Reliability of Saeco Incanto Line?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I have just purchased a Saeco Incanto Classic. This is my first superautomatic. I live in Ontario, Canada and Saeco Ontario offers an extended warranty of either one or two years on this machine. I normally dont go for extended warranties but from researching superautomatics on the Net before buying, Ive been left with the impression that some are "sensitive" and prone to problems....whether that impression is correct or not, I dont know.

The extended warranty is not cheap, $160.95 for one year and $241.45 for two years. Included in that warranty is annual maintenace by Saeco that includes cleaning and calibration of the grinder, professional descaling, maintenance of the brew group, testing unit for leaks, general cleaning and operation testing of the product and "much more" (no elaboration on what the "much more" is). The extended warranty covers all parts and labour and if they cant repair a problem, they will replace the machine.

Id appreciate hearing about anyones experience with the reliability of the Saeco Incanto line. The extended warranty is not cheap so I could use some input to help me make up my mind. Thanks.

    Hi Caroline,

I am just about to address that very issue in a letter to Saeco Australia. I am on my second machine in less than two years and this new one has been in for repairs four times since January last year. The last repair - couldnt stop the steamer - came a year to the day since the identical issue was fixed. (I have the S-Class DeLuxe - an upgrade they made when my original machine was replaced).
I know there are lemons in any range. to get one lemon is back luck. When you get your second, you wonder about the whole range.
That said, once the machine is propertly set up, it makes really good coffee.
Ill be interested to see what Saeco says - and in any feedback or advice from CS members. I have asked the service manager to review my machines service record and get back to me - but not sure what to demand from them.
