    Single Spout Portafilters

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I asked a sponsor for some extra incentives in convincing me to buy a machine and one of the things he said he would throw in (not literally I hope) was a single spout portafilter.

Just wondering if they are handy for their obvious purpose or if I will find myself not using it?

Good for keeping a blind filter handy to backflush throughout the day.
Good for converting to a naked PF
Good for 12 ounce cups if you have low groups that dont easily accommodate tall cups

    what acog said !!

my spare is my blind or pressure gauge ghandle

but i just screw the spouts off mine anyway and use it without them.

I get my cups in easy, and find it easy to tamp. I dont like tamping a single as they seem to always want to tip over.

garb it if its in the deal :)

An extra group handle is always useful. At work I have 3:

    1. 18g basket (for making 2 coffees)
    2. 14g basket (for making my doppio ristrettos)
    3. blind basket

The spouts screw off!! So it is a spare group handle for whatever use you want.

    Greg
None of my group handles still have spouts attached. ;D
