    Double baskets?

Ive got a couple of ridgeless double baskets, that look very similar, neither have identifying marks, 1 is an excellent performer, the other is crap, is there any way of determining the maker so that I can order a spare? :-?

What is the advantage of having a ridgeless basket over a ridged one (or vice versa) .. does it affect channeling or something :question

    cheers.

    Each to their own..

Some are blond, brown, brunette, sand or even red... So what does it mean..

If ys look a little deeper there may be clues as to culture / background or how susceptible to teh sun...

    Same deal...

Some group handles and the shape of their basket, need that grove to allow teh group spring to hole teh basket in.. Others are not that bad..

Some have issues with teh tamp level, others as to coffee grinds sticking in teh ridge / grove when dumping..

Some baskets taper in more than others, some have tapered sides Vs straight sides..

    Fit for purpose...

    @ AM,
haha ok, so basically, whenever i get a new machine to play with, i should have abit of a mess around and see what works best, as with most aspects of creating espresso.
    haha

    cheers AM,

    No truer words ever spoken....

It is as simple as that, yet many make it out to be something else...

Like Fishing.. See what works for you... That $200 fishing book and all the reading and super expensive gear will not make you a champ.. Some aspects will be easer. But like many locals around Australia.. They do very well with what they have.. Split Rangoon cane rods = Leaver in coffee speak.

Yes, the devil is in teh detail....... But if there is no need to go there.. Why mess with ya head. Less time to enjoy and life is short enough..

PS. I fully concur with Greg P comments as to baskets and if ya read it... You will see my post says the same... Just that it is in, AM speak 8-) :P
