    Silvia Brew Pressure problem?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Calling Dr Rancilios.......weird thing has happened to my Silvia....was struggling this morning to get a shot out of her.....bordeline choking for 2 or 3 shots despite adjusting to a coarser grind.Beans are 5 days old (home roasted),used ok with no problems prior to today. Only way I could get close to a 30ml shot was to adjust Rocky from the typical grind setting of 9 to something around 19 which resulted in a coarse grind more suitable for plunger! Even then puck was very dry.shot came out with a quickly disappearing crema and *poor taste........Havent had chance to lift the hood to see if anything obvious .........although not sure what to look for (any loose pipes etc?).
Silvia is about 3 yrs old.......does this sound like a pump problem?? If so any ideas where I can get one??
Saw the thread on doing the pressure test and also read that buying a p/filter w/pressure gauge will tell me whats up but I thought Id run it through CS before going any further.................

My silvia just stopped pumping water through the group head last week.
it still pumps water through the wand when i flick the hot water switch, seeing though its still under warranty i just sent her off to be fixed.
If you are in Sydney Mocopan/Cerebos are doing my repairs. i can give you details if needed.

What a bugger. Does the pump sound any different? Is it still producing hot water through the wand? Perhaps theres something blocking the end of the inlet hose? Backflushing?

Im no expert, so sorry: just questions rather than answers.

Have you gone through Alan Frews troubleshooting flow chart:

    Good luck!

    Re: Silvia Brew Pressure problem?

Mabe check the OPV, google for silvia pressure mod if you havent seen it before. Not suggesting you do the mod - just proposing the idea that maybe the opv got stuck slightly open or something? i guess you would notice it leaking water when you have it open if that was the problem...or maybe the spring is slightly worn out...
it is a sudden problem or has it slowly built to that stage?

    edit:added info

If the OPV is opening, you will be able to see the water returning to the reservoir. Its the hose that is slightly shorter (doesnt reach to the bottom of the tank). If there is flow through that, then the OPV is opening or open and returning water. The OPV normally opens at ~11 bar and is there to protect the boiler.
