    Bogav Tampers

    Hey all,

I did a search and didnt find a topic about Bogav tampers so I thought Id start one.

I bought a Bogav Classic this week (after a reliable recommendation and trying others) and it is truly a joy to use! Its really well made, balanced and fits my Synesso baskets brilliantly. Most importantly, it feels right in my hand. Gavins done a great job with making it.

Would be good to hear from other Bogav tamper users and their experiences!

    Hi Tango,

Whilst not a thread as such, at the top of this section of the forum is the sticky thread on tamper reviews. The first review is one of mine on this tamper.

    Give it a read! ;)

No complaints with mine either. I like its simple clean lines.
Its the only tamper Ive ever owned though so I dont know
how it compares performance wise. But for me it does a good
    job.* :)

I am using 3 of them now and they have displaced all others.

I have a 55mm one off custom Assassin for the Pompeii, a 58mm Assassin at home and I use a 58mm classic at the shed. Love Gavins work.

There are quite a few sniper tampers out in Breville world as well.

Would they work with a Rancilio Silva?

That's an exhumed thread if ever I saw one!

Nar...nothing will work with a Silva, nor Sylvia as Rancilio produce neither .

The Classic and Assassin will however work with a Rancilio Silvia as it employs a 58mm basket... The Sniper- long dead and not missed after our experience of selling Breville.

Bogav tampers are even more beautiful now with almost mirror finish machining. You have to see it to appreciate it...

    Cheers

    Chris
