Where to buy a machine in Sydney?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi all,

this is my first post. Ive been reading intensely for a couple of weeks now and cant say Im any closer to choosing a machine.

So now Im changing tack and attacking from a different direction.

Are there any suppliers in Sydney you would recommend?
I need one with a good reputation for before and after sales service.

    Thanks in advance.

    Gday Thundergod,

Can you remove the active code from your signature image and re-attach or remove the image altogether please. We dont like unsolicited login pop-ups too much around here,

    Thanks,
    Mal.

Thanks Brett - Market Town is not too far from home.
ecm botticelli - another one to look into.

2mcm I have started contacting site sponsors - my problem atm is still trying to decide on which machine.
Im hoping to stick to a $2000 budget (machine + grinder).

Re: Where to buy a machine in Sydney?

Ive been talking with Chris and have decided on an Expobar Office EB-61 and a Macap M5.

Now I have to hang out and wait on delivery. ;D

Brett if you are still there, name me a coffee to buy from Bianchi.
I popped my head in the door this arvo on the way to Woolies, and they have so many coffees behind the counter I wouldnt know where to start.

    hey thundergod
i love the stronger richer blends- etrusco is fat and rich, im fond of formula 1 but it has a fraction more bite- darker and oilier
    macchiato is good
    id start with etrusco though
    all the best

    Thanks Brett.

    Ill take note of those.

Until I get back to Leichhardt Ive been on the phone to Hazel de los Reyes (NSW Barista Champion) at Coffee Alchemyin Marrickville.

When my equipment arrives early next week Im going to call in and pick up some of her Sibilas Brew to start with.

sounds interesting- let us know how you go
by the way- check carefully about machine prices- diff shops seem to favour diff machines- for instance ive seen saeco via venezias for s20 down to 430- same with other machines

yes, as you can see from my new thread the new brewing beast, Chris does a good deal for us here.
Next up for me may have to be a good domestic roaster as Im finding the heat-gun method isnt too suitable in winter in the Blue Mountains -- standing on the verandah stirring the stainless-steel bowl for 20 minutes isnt the greatest fun when the temperatures heading down near zero....

Understood - its cold enough in Sydney this morning.

Ive had thoughts about roasting but will leave that for a while as I get used to my new toy first.
(Only three more sleeps till its on its way.)

Re: Where to buy a machine in Sydney?

Macap M5 grinder arrived this morning.

    Very well packed!

I ran some test beans through after Id carefully assembled it according to the Italian instructions(I found the English ones later, I couldnt wait).

The grind seemed close to the mark so I took a stab at grinding some good stuff and dusted off a plunger.

I cant say it was the best but I can say Ive ground my own coffee now and produced a drinkable brew.

If all goes well the Expobar Leva should be here on Friday.

Then Ill rearrange the kitchen bench a little more and squeeze out the fruit baskets ( who needs vitamin C anyway?) to make room for the final setup.
