    Sunbeam "Coffee Class"

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I have just taken delivery of a new Sunbeam EM6900 machine and an EM0480 grinder.
I gather from what I am reading in this and other forums that Sunbeam, have in the past, offered some sort of "Coffee Appreciation" course as part of the deal.
I can find no mention of this in the equipment documentation. Have things changed or is this something the retailer (David Jones) should have offered?

Hmm. Dont know how it works, but I saw an ad for this machine whilst away, and they were certainly making a point out of the fact that it included a coffee appreciation course.

In fact, a quick google got me this
    http://www.sunbeam.com.au/about_us/promo_detail.cfm?promo_id=27&home_id=1

    Hope that helps.

    Brett.

    Behmor Brazen - $249 - Free Freight
I did the course a while ago. Though it wasnt advertised at point of sale, I did find the website and figure that I was eligible, so I went.

Its not so much about coffee appreciation (eg cupping, espresso, blending, roasting, etc) as it is a chance to learn a little about the machine (dosing, tamping, extraction, milk texturing), and burn through a pile of someone elses beans and milk (well, technically I guess they did factor the course into the purchase price...). The instructor baristi are certainly skilful though, so its a good chance to pick their brains.

Good if youre a newbie (and you cant beat the cost), but I learned more by hanging out on the interweb.
