    Vibiemme Domobar Super design

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Im new to semi-automatic espresso machines, but have spent some time researching the net recently. I have narrowed it down to four machines at the moment.
    1. ECM Giotto Premium
    2. VBM Domobar Super
    3. Expobar Minore
    4. Wega Mininova

    Re: VBM Domobar Super
there appears to be very little info on the net.
I did notice a NZ company has been working closely with VBM to improve models.
Photos indicate that on the left of the RHS press gauge there is a small light to indicate when the reservior water level gets low.

I went to checkout the Domobar at Crivelli in Melb and their model didnt have a light on the left of the RHS gauge. They said the Australian model doesnt come with that feature.

    Q. Does it seem strange VBM would have a special model just for Australia?
    Q. I like the fact that the Minore has 2 press gauges + brew temp readout; how important or valuable are these features (compared to ECM which only has a steam press gauge)?

    thanks for your help.
    this is a great site!

Hey Ren and welcome to CS!

Your selections are all good machines and I can assist with the Giotto and Minore. You may also like to have a look at the Diadema Junior plus semi-auto....Its a superb machine.

Its not that unusual to have special models for OZ and it wouldnt surprise ma if thats the case with Vibiemme.

As for gauges, the 2nd gauge on the minore gives "an indication" of pump pressure....I have found that they are within a bar or so of actual group head pressure. The important thing is to have a machine which is bench tested by a professional and adjustments where required made to ensure that the machine operates at optimum pressures.

I have demos of the Diadema and Expobar and expect a new Giotto demo this week (had to selll the previous one :() if youd like to comae and have a look/play...

    regards

    Chris

In the past the service section of my company has seen considerable service problems with some of the machines you mentioned, & the standard of design, build & cosmetics varies greatly within the group.

Therefore, suggest you do indeed take up 2mcms offer to check the machines he has in stock. He has a much better range of quality (3 types of "quality" ie reliability, standard of finish, & quality of brew & steam) on show to demonstrate to you (or anyone).

    FC.
