Im very interested in getting a pullman tamper as my sunbeam tamper starts to fall apart >:(.
Just wondering how long does it take from order to recieve? a week? (I think ill send both of my single and double filter basket for fitting) *I dont mind paying for express post as i dont want to wait for that long.

    Hi Sugilun,

Regular post can take 5-7 days between the East Coast and here in Perth..... Express Post takes 2-3 days (not quite Express unfortunately).... so total time (sending your basket and my returning basket and tamper) is a bit more than two weeks if Regular post is used and about a week if Express Post...

Actually making the tamper is the quickest part of the process.

By the way we have lots of records pf 6910s in our database. The size is well known and VERY consistent...... so if you have a 6910 there is no real need to send your baskets.

But i want a tamper which can fit both of my double and single basket. From my knowledge, the basket sizes vary even from the same brand. So I want to ask is it nessasery to post the basket for fitting? Im not quite sure. But glad to know i only takes a week for espress post.

Also, I would like to ask is the base is flat or convex? Cos I want a flat base tamper

Re: Very interested in getting a pullman tamper

    Sugilun,

The non pressurised baskets supplied with the 6910, IMHO, are some of the best for being perfectly round and all the same size..... and that applies to both the singles and doubles. We have very few records of the pressurised baskets so I cant comment on those.

Most machines, including many which are far more expensive than the Sunbeam, do have quite a bit of variation between the single and double baskets as well as between individual singles and doubles.

I suspect Sunbeam are so good because the tools used for stamping the baskets are new and have very little wear..... and as such the baskets are near perfect - each and every time.

So whilst there is no real need to send me the baskets, Im happy if you wish to - and can then add the data from yours to our database.

There are very, very few machines where I wouldnt recommend sending me the baskets to provide a "perfectly fitted" tamper..... The 6910 is one such machine.

Thx for your advise. So i think ill just put in the order through the web without sending the basket to u~~~~

One more question, is it a flat base tamper or convex base?

    Thats an easy one.....

Sunbeam baskets are a larger diameter than most commercial machines..... and we only have convex for commercial baskets and smaller - they are too small for the Sunbeam...

So flat is the only option for the Sunbeam.

    SOrry, one more question

In the ordering page, do i really have to provide the Basket diameter? What if i want to order a tamper which can used in both of my single and double basket. Should i just take the mean measurment of both basket? Or i just order a 58mm tamper? My machine is em6910. It is already in the order list.

    Thx~~~

    Sugilun,

With the EM6910 just select that as the machine type and also select not sending baskets....

If you measure your single and double (normal) basket with the correct technique you will find they are almost exactly the same size.... certainly close enough so that the tamper we supply will fit both..... but there is no need for you to either measure your baskets or enter anything in the basket size on the web form.

However if you are thinking of using the pressurised baskets (the ones with a single small hole in the bottom) then we have almost zero records of those (no-one uses them) so I cant guarantee the fit.
