what have you observed so far?
I just installed one of these group head thermometers in to my Isomac Teh-Ah should be handy for my cooling shot.
At least now I will have some idea as to my water temp at the group so it should be interesting to see just how hot the Teh-Ah runs. :o :o ;D
what have you observed so far?
Im guessing this is the one ex-US? id love for one of the sponsors to supply some of these! great tool by the look of things.

Well with the unit giving me my group head temperature I now know when its ready to pull a shot after warm up which is around 35 min,the group head runs at 97-98* when I do a cooling flush it raises to 101* then I let it drops down to 97* and pull the shot this is in line with Erics test result which puts the temp at 92* at the puck.Originally Posted by 323E2B2B00173A3333263E2D5F0 link=1260164654/1#1 date=1260385483
After installation I knocked back my boiler pressure to 1.2 from around 1.5 out of the box this has not made any difference to my steaming capabilities but if you where to go much lower it would take bit longer to steam milk.
As for in the cup I must say that my shot have improved heaps in "taste :P" and consistency I am very happy with my purchase
Cheers Gra ;D ;D.
Gra, sounds like its a winner all round, well done. :)
I second WSully.Originally Posted by 03072138383D22353A540 link=1260164654/2#2 date=1260396028
Hmmm.... would it be better to have logging of the temps?
Im thinking that we could source the adaptor for a multimeter probe and then you could use the CS software to log it over the day (in something like 5-10 second plots)
I like the way you think Andy 8-)Originally Posted by 6A454F522B0 link=1260164655/6#6 date=1260603441
I wonder if it will talk to my Scace using the old original adaptor shipped with USB multimeter??
The Fluke thermometer I have (at megabucks) and its associated software (rubbish and also at megabucks) only saves the data but doesnt log it in real time....
I think we are hijacking the thread.
I really like Gras new toy and will see what we might be able to do with the existing CS software this week. (I needed a new project!)
You guys have got me thinking There is a Dmm probe that they make to replaces the thermometer that goes with the adapter I wounder if any of my K type are off the same size ::) ::) ::)
I dont know what the little lady is going to say when she see the laptop set up on her bench ;D ;D ;D ;D
Shes probably used to it by now gra ;D mine just rolls the eyes and smiles now.......success!
I expect they are... which is what made the think of it.Originally Posted by 546172130 link=1260164655/9#9 date=1260612826

I still want one of these little ones just so I know what the current temp is. can you source them Talk_Coffee?
I just checked out the K type probe with my digital caliper and there the same so after smoke-ko and the machine cools down I will have a play :D :DOriginally Posted by 133C362B520 link=1260164655/11#11 date=1260623729
Changed over to the K type and it works fine started to have a play then got told that friends were coming over for a cuppa,So I only got in a warm up and one shot before putting things back normal.
The Silvia one also fits La Cimbali. Ive got one fitted to my Faema E98.Originally Posted by 04292823392439344D0 link=1260164655/16#16 date=1260832190
