    Repairing/painting Bakelite

I came across this article on Bakelite when I was looking for an appropriate polish and a primer to paint some bakelite on a couple of machines.*

I found it quite interesting and helpful so thought I would share.

Anyone know who sells Greygate polish in Austrlia?* Looks like it might have to come from the UK.* The Greygate website is a bit behind the times :) so isnt much help.

    Cheers

Yep I had seen it on a few ebay stores. Fortunately they ship to Aust. I just didnt want to wait, plus Royal Mail lost a parcel recently. One of the stores also sells this "black box" descaler. Smoke and mirrors or electrolysis or maybe it is all lasers??

checkout item number 400039685188 UK website

I wonder how effective it is and how it would go in a machine under temperature.

Never heard of this until today* :-? Seems the little black box just generates a magnetic field.

Found this on the net and its worth a read if your intrested.* They research it quite well from my brief read.* http://www.inepo.com/english/uplFiles_resim/Estonia_MariaOrb.pdf

They used two magnets out of a computer harddisk and the results look good.* Use this method and there is no power consumption either.* Would be very interesting to try it.
