    hi mate.
At the top of the page under the coffeesnobs logo is a tab called "quote form"
    give it a whirl.
Most people here will be loyal to the sponsors so you may as well ask them

    Hello ayepeace,

Our EP precision baskets are what Synesso baskets might have been if they were well manufactured

I just got a pair of EP precision baskets from Chris at Talk Coffee. What an immediate difference! Firstly, I totally understand everybody's advice to get rid of the standard Rancilio baskets, but I wasn't expecting such an improvement in crema, intensity and consistency of the espresso shot. At about a third of the price of VST baskets they're not going to disappoint.

    Hi everyone,

just a a quick question, are these baskets strictly 14g or do they function optimally with higher dose?

    Cheers, Andy

I'd think it might vary according to height of your shower screen etc Andy. I know the there's this argument from some re the (competing) VSTs that you should not vary too far from their nominal dose, but I can't figure how that can work as universal rule. Chris / Yelta might be able to help (if they ever weigh their doses).

I picked up a double and triple this morning from Chris. I've tested about 7-8 shots so far, all 18g in the double basket, and they're a long way from filling the basket, at least in my Giotto. Depending on the bean I reckon I could easily dose 20g in there.

I weigh my beans each and every shot and use the 14 to 18 basket with 18 grams, leaves approx 8mm between basket lip and top of puck.

    Hope this helps.

I should have added, they've made a big difference from my stock Giotto basket. Too early to say if it's actually better, as I was playing around with different beams, but definitely a different shot profile is very visible with a naked PF.

I've found the same thing, I'm dosing around 20g in my EP double,

I don't really use the triple but from memory I was dosing around 23+ into that.

Thanks for all the helpful responses, and quickly too! Have just been out for dinner and in that short time plenty of answers have arrived!
It's great to hear positive feedback on these baskets.
Once I've posted this I'm getting straight on to ordering a couple from Chris.
    Thanks again,
    Andy
