How big are your jugs and what brand
Just curious to see who's using what jugs. I'm in the market for a new jug and my head is spinning with all the options. I've read multiple threads on here but it would be interesting to see who uses what and whether they rate it.
Welcome Marc! It all depends on how much milk you want for one brewing cycle and what size of your coffee cups. I've got 300ml Ilsa (for single cup); 500ml rattleware (for 2-3 cups) & 1L from Barista Supplies (for 4-5 cups). My cups are mainly IPA 160ml Tulip and some 200ml cups. I'm very happy with these jugs so far, no problem for latte art.

no but seriously, unless taste in cup is affected by the quality of branded jugs, i wouldn't be too concerned.
i personally have a 300ml coffeeparts jug, 600ml sunbeam jug for domestic use, the latter hardly ever touched as I prefer to serve double shots top in freshly frothed milk in variety of ACF cups.
Has a lot to do with the espresso machine you own too (jug size), and the performance limits of its steaming power...
I think now I'm leaning towards a smaller jug with the intention of heating milk fresh for each cup. Does thickness of the metal come into play at all?
Not really mate, if you use a Milk Thermometer (very cheap to buy), or if you prefer just using the palm of your hand, a bit of trial and error will sort that out. Given that most milk stretching jugs are made of stainless steel, any extra thickness will tend to keep the milk inside hotter for longer, so not really a problem.
