    Hard rubbish find

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi All,

Found this mains pressure machine on the side of the road.

    Has no name on it.
Would like to know from the experts out there what brand machine this is and if this is worth fixing or selling for parts.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

A google image search unearthed this listing for a similar machine: ASTORIA ESPRESSIMO 1 GROUP ESPRESSO COFFEE MACHINE | Trade Me

Your biggest concern will be whether the control board is alive or not, cause it'll set you back $400-500 for a new one (judging by similar boards available on coffeeparts).

    Score!

Make sure you get a sparky to test it before plugging it in... but on appearance it looks like it was well loved.

Larceny by finding ? I think it's still an offence in some parts of the country. First step, contact the police and see if it's stolen then follow their advice regarding your find . Personally, I'm a bit weary about things on the side of the road or sold from the back of trucks.

Theft by finding occurs when someone who chances upon an object which seems abandoned takes possession of the object but fails to take steps to establish whether the object is abandoned and not merely lost or unattended.* In some jurisdictions the crime is called "larceny by finding" or "stealing by finding".

    Hello There,
    Yes,nice machine you've found there...possession is 9/10th on the law side,isn't it?
Don't concern yourself about the electronics too much, all else fails you could operate the machine with a simple on/off multi pole switch to provide the correct operation albeit without measured output.
I acquired a Bezzera B2000 TE two group machine, worked fine however,it didn't include a water level controller.Sourced that for $50 (used),had to bypass the touch pads with seperate switches .
Opened it and gave it a thorough clean out, that's it worked from then on without any problem, due for duty at my work staff room shortly, once I've fitted a anti-vacuum valve,Bezzera all in one PRV /anti-vacuum didn't meet the standards.
As others have suggested, either someone who is skilled in electrical work (with proved credentials) to confirm electrical isolation/safety checks before you go further.
The electronics may be a simple fix...who knows?
    You lucky devil!
Good luck with it,remember there are people on here who would be happy to lend support/ helpful advice, just ask.
    Cheers,
    mick.

    Thank you everyone for responding,

readeral, Good Job! you hit the nail on the head. Now to find manuals and parts if needed( will check coffeeparts).

Will test out in the next few days, if it is functional.
Please don't worry, I am a qualified electrician with a electronics background so testing it out will be ok.

First step is getting it out of the ute, bloody thing weighs a ton.
Had a lovely lady help me get it in the ute, need to ask the wife to get it out!

    Cheers
