    Moka Pot Seal/Gasket

    Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Does anyone know of a local source for Moka Pot Seals/Gaskets?

    The particular size Im looking for at the moment is 53mm O.D., 43mm I.D., 3mm thick.

    Failing that has anyone made their own?

    If I cant find a source, Im considering making my own out of Silicone ~ using a silicone bakeware tray, and some creative cutting. *Any thoughts on the use of silicone over rubber?

    Australia *;D

    Im in regional Australia and would prefer an online shop, unless there are alternatives ~ hardware shops, plumbers? *Do they sell heat resistant rubber gaskets of this form?

    What type of sources are there in Melbourne ~ coffee supply shops or other?

    As do some of those household pots and pans utensils retailers. Its also a good idea to buy a spare and keep it on standby.

    Regional Australia != deli *::)

    The few kitchen type shops available to me, only stock particular sizes, not the one Im currently looking for.

    Ive found the one Im after on a few US websites, but would rather make my own then pay postage from the US...

    Thought there might be some specialty stores that have a good selection, perhaps Ill have a poke around next time Im in the big smoke...

    Yep, still have 1 spare, just thinking ahead a little. *Would prefer to keep the spare as a template if I have to make my own. *I might try to make a silicone one. *If it works out okay, Ill make enough to last a while...
