I got a really nice digital one for just under $20 at bunnings, many many different timer settings!
Thanks for the feedback but how about some more details about how you use it? Auto turn on the morning - off at night, OR multiple times during the day, what do you do on weekends and Holidays. For example Id like mine to turn on at say 6:30 am and turn of at say 8:00 am. On again at say 6:00pm and off at say 9:00pm, except weekends when Id like it on all day and what about manual overide - how easy is that?
Ciao
The multiple times are easy it has a dial that you can set and you push in the white dial around the timer to which ever time you want it going on and off to set the different times. We have ours turned on at 5:30 and off at 10am, then back on again at 4:30 and off at 10pm.
It also has a switch on the side if you just want to keep it turned on. Our brand is HPM.
Hope that made sense, its easier when you can see it.
Get the digital one then, you can program different settings for weekends, and weekdays. There is manual overide for all of these timers.
Another thing you need to consider is whether they block your other power outlet. These timers are large and might obstruct your use of the power socket next to it.
