I have sinned, I beg for forgiveness

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Dear Snobs,

I have sinned, I went and purchased a thermoblock coffee machine. I was getting very pissy with the gaggia esp. the steaming wand, and didnt like waiting for the Nuova Simonelli to spin-up in the morning. I wanted something that I could play with while I continue to agonise over the dream machine purchase.

The temptation was in the form of $100 incentive vouchers from my work. The range of places I could use them was limited to say the least. But one of the places was retravision, I called up and asked if they would price match Hardly Normal for a EM6900. They said sure and we agreed on $490 for it. I popped down, handed over the crappy $100 of vouchers and $390 cash.

I know buying a thermoblock is enough for purgatory, but my ticket to hell was the fact that I really enjoyed the coffee that was produced from it.

By way of redemption, I am going to do a dumb-dumb test on it. That is, I am going to try and teach my wife to use it.

    I am sorry....

If you enjoy the coffee it produces then thats all that matters. :)

If you wish to absolve yourself of this sin you might try washing it out of your system with 10 Hail Macchiatos. ;D

    Nyg:

A $40 timer from Dick Smith allows me to turn my machine on in the morning as it does take a minimum of 30 minutes to heat up.

You wont go to hell, I dont think, well you might. It really depends on what else you do when not drinking coffee....:)

Best of luck with the machine.

Go in peace, my son, for the recognition of your error is penance enough. But you may not get an expresso ticket to coffee heaven.

Who makes this EM6900 thermoblock machine?

(Andy ducks for cover but not nearly as low as Nyg will have to duck if his wife reads his post!!!)

PS: great post Nyg, enjoy your new toy.

You guys are being mean, Kelvinator makes good products. I even keep my milk cool in one of their products.

My Kelvinator will freeze milk with the besty of them, along with everything else in the fridge. Guess I should turn it down a bit eh? But its set for the summer, and summers nearly here - well it was a few days ago.
