    Grays online... Interesting..

So you would like others here to give a Review on the machine...

1: Rancilio has a good name...

Sorry, but that is about all I can say... :-?

A: You provide no information as to the intended use... ::)

B: There is no information / background on the machine... It could be working or it could be dead... Or some where in between... :-/

Sorry, but I do not have ESP and if I did, I would charge big $$$$ for it.

PS. Welcome to CS... We are a passionate group and willing to help; Where we can. However many of us can not perform the impossible...

Some of teh sponsors have been known to perform miracles... However they may also wish to charge... NOTE: Wiki - a miracle is a violation of normal laws of nature by some supernatural entity or unknown, outside force. Thus = Sponsor

    Be careful Cath.

If I correctly interpret what I can see in the photo, the group handles swing well past centre point, and to me, thats an indication that the machine has not been well looked after.

In that case one of teh sponsors is doing a interesting deal at the moment (including grinder / training etc etc).. *Di Bartoli Coffee Centre *http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1163932885 *Have a look at teh last post.. *Yesterday

I would contact them directly and if not suitable clarify what your looking for and e-mail the sponsors directly... *

They have a contact e-mail address at the bottom of teh sponsor list.

They are good supporters and those in a position to assist, will.

You have to be extremely careful with 2nd hand machines from auction houses.
They are not setup to run, so you cant test them and no one will know if they work or not.
They are sold "as is" "buyers risk".
If you know something about machines or are willing to spend the money for a complete overhaul, you may find a bargain.
    Just be careful.

The latest Di Bartoli offer does look good for you.

As the owner of a couple of the predocessors of these dont buy one unless you are prepared to do a full strip and clean and then spend more money on them and even then I still wouldnt buy one in your situation ;)

You are better off with hassle free coffee for 20, I was buying for a fun toy/project and both cost $300 including frieght 8-)

Re: Can anyone please review this machine?

Esp machines end up in auctions when there is no other place for them to go except to the tip.

Occasionally the above admittedly gross exageration is proved wrong and you find a real gem.

But you have to be the kind of person that can recognize the gem, from the sow.

Best advice is to leave it to used commercial catering equipment traders who know what they are looking at and who will sell it to some poor soul who is trying to start their first cafe or mobile set up and has little money.

You should on the other hand *and IMH (honest) opinion deal with a respectable coffee equipment trader who can present equipment that is working and guaranteed, suited to your situation, and who can back it up.

second hand I tghink it would sell about $800 second hand on ebay working but needing service. I would not buy this if I was you, the service cost will be lots. better to get something you can inspect, and make sure everything works as expected. probably a single group would be more than adequate, smaller, and easier.

2nd hand single groups tend to be more expensive.

I agree. This looks like a rancilio S-24 series. I think that the S is for "sucks."

Yes, it would be interesting to experiment with. I think that Dave Seng has been refurbishing and playing around with one that would otherwise have gone in the tip.

agree, but seen some nice plumbed in 2nd hand grimacs go for quite cheap prices - they dont seem popular.

s24 is the single group vibe semi-auto model. This is an S20. Ive an s20 midi, which has a smaller boiler than normal. Until I got used to it, I would burn lots of coffee, but wouldnt have burnt anything in a long time now. so it hasnt sucked too much for me!
