Brasilia Cappuccino - water flow too slow

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi,

My Brasilia Cappuccino (1998) used to produce a perfect shot with extraction time 25-30 sec.

As of few weeks, the flow of water from the group head has considerably slowed down - it takes 45 sec for 30ml WITHOUT the portafilter in the group head.
The pressure from the steam nozzle is fine and the flow of water through the hot water pipe is fine as well.

Any suggestions where I should be looking?

    Thanks
    VB

    Hi Warren,

I backflush my machine with chemicals once a week.

Not sure on the descaling as I got it used, but have not descaled it in the last 6 months since Ive had it.

    Thanks

Not sure what you have done, b ut I would take off shower screen and dispersion block and clean these off. Backflush again. if that doesnt do it check if you group has some sort of jet/flow restrictor in there and descale this. If that doesnt do it, it check that there is no significant scale in pipes/fittings from pump to group. and if that doesnt do it I would check pump operation.

    Thanks for the replies,

Yes, I cleaned the shower screen and the dispensation block.

I havent descaled yet, so Ill give that a try and see if that helps.

    Thanks

Yes, I got the descaler today and it did the job.

The machine is back to normal information.

    Thanks
