    Hi everybody.

This is my first post on this forum. I guess you guys are wondering why Im writing here on this australian forum, but the answer is short, I just thought that it looked awesome!

Im 21 years old, and for the past 4 years I have been dreaming of a "real" espresso machine. At about 2 years ago my mother gave me one of those Nespresso thingies as a birthday present. It does its job, but Im tired of those annoying capsules, and you know what? it doesnt do milk (which my girlfriend is a fan of :) ).

So.. Im looking into buying a good solid working espresso machine. I have searched the web, but there are so many different opinions.

Here in Denmark, where im from, we dont really have any dealers that I can go to, and try the different out, so I have to build my decision on reviews and good advisees.

My budget is MAX $2000, and from what ive heard, the Expobar Minore III should be awesome at that price range.

BUT.. I cant find this machine anywhere in Europe.

Is there any other machine that you guys would recommend me?

Im really looking forward to hear from you.

Best regards from the other side of the planet

    Niels

    Velkommen Niels.

I think youll find Espresso equipment is available in Denmark, youll just have to do a little searching to find them. *Did you know Denmark has produced four World Barista Champions? *Try these leads to get you started:

Coffee invokes a lot of passion so you should find there are suppliers out there who are willing to take the time and effort to really help you with your purchase. *Happy hunting :)

I guess you are right.. I just have to search harder..

Do you have any experience with buying used? Is there anything to be aware of?

I have been offered a 3 years old ECM Giotto, it has only been used for home use, but everyday. The seller asks $1000.

    Do anybody know this machine?

Even buying new can be an issue for some..

1: Understand exactly what your looking for and Need Vs Want

2: Know your raw products / beans and milk... If supermarket beans then even the best machine will have issues with stale beans.

    3: After sales service

    4: Secondhand...

Do you realy know the history
    What water
    How has it been maintained
    .....
    .....

    And the list goes on...

Have a read here http://www.home-barista.com/resources.html and the faqs
