Help with steam pressure on bezzera Domus Galatea!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Ive had this machine for about a month now, and am very happy except...

Every third jug of milk I go to steam it de-pressurises, and the steam pressure drops to zero. It then takes a minute or so to get back up to reasonable pressure. It seems to make no difference if the machines been on for 10 mins or 3 hours. Or whether Ive just poured one coffee or three.

Is this a recognized fault?? Im not too keen to return it if I can help it, as Im otherwise quite attached! :)

    Hi there

How much milk are you steaming each time?

Maybe 200-300ml. It doesnt matter though, cos the pressure drop is instantaneous. The gauge goes from ~1.3 bar to zero in less than a second. Other times its fine regardless of volume

You may need to adjust the boiler water level

    Hope this explanation makes sense
You need to have less water in the boiler to make more space available in the boiler for more steam

Souds like a sticking vacuum breaker, found on top of boiler usually.Either clean and replace o-ring, or replace complete vac breaker (usually around $20)

Thanks for the advice..... Im going to take it back to coffee craft to get them to sort it... Seeing as its a new machine and all. I was mainly checking that dodgy steaming performance wasnt an expected feature.
    Thanks heaps

Yes, the best advice is to take it back.

Be careful....we see enough threads like this in CS, asking for advice on problems before equipment is taken in for repair.* Dont expect the problem to be anything anyone has kindly advised you of...it might be something mentioned here, and it may not.

Allow your suppliers guarantee to work for you which is to protect you against faulty manufacture and assembly in a new machine, and let the repairer do his job without second guesses coming from the sidelines* ;)

Afterwards, I for one would be interested to hear what the problem really was, and look forward to your update :)

Thanks .... This was my reason for buying local. Even though its a pain to put in the car, its better than having to post it away!

After 2 LONG weeks waiting I finally got it back. I think they had some trouble finding the fault also.
The docket says parts: vacc valve, non return valve ass, o ring.
    Then it says:
    -replaced suspect parts
    -descaled vacc assembly
    -adjusted relief valve
    -bench test/diagnostics

Doesnt mean too much to me, but it works just fine now!!
After 2 weeks of plunger I was about to go crazy!!
