    First espresso machine: Diadema Perfetta

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi Everyone,
Picked up my new combo today of a Perfetta and Wega mini-instant. Couldnt be happier with how the machine looks, and despite my apprehension being a newb, the machine seems pretty straight forward to use.
Will be making 2-4 coffees a day on average, maybe more on weekends. Am mainly a milk based drinker but am trying to teach the palette (sp) the variances between beans.
Im sure the Perfetta will do a better job than the delonghi was capable of. ;)
Would like to thank Chris at Talk Coffee for his excellent service and patience answering questions at all hours of the day.

Here are some pics (hopefully) of my new girl :)..........

Congratulations! *The Wega (aka Compak K3 Touch) is a bit different. No tongue (I believe that was an Oz spec on the Touch), a button instead. I dont remember seeing the 4 dots below either.

Wait a minute...just dug up a photo of my old Touch. Appears that holes are there so group handle forks can be positioned below tongue if machine is configured that way. What are the 2 bottom holes for?

    Thanks Buschy,

Very happy with the Perfetta, seems like its built really solidly, all the info I could find on them rated them highly for a single boiler.

The grinder also seems really good. *Never having had anything to compare it to, so I can only go off my own limited knowledge. I really like the dosing using the button, maybe the lever prevented the group handle from getting right under the dosing chute?

The 4 black dots seem to be holes that have small plastic plugs in place. maybe someone else will be able to enlighten us as to their purpose..........

I suspect that Wega may finish assembly themselves and that the 4 holes are possible used for a dosing chamber and/or fork...

    Thanks Mal,

I am loving the Perfetta, I think I am making some reasonable coffees, not great, but reasonable.

One thing that I would like to clarify with someone in the know is whether the portafilter should lock in 90 degrees to the machine. Even without any coffee the handle sits slightly to the left. Without a basket it will go fully around, but not with a basket. It hasnt affected anything, however I just wanted to check that this was normal?

    Appreciate any replies. :)

    Hi Sniffta,

Thank you for your kind words.

Diadema machines ship with fairly thick group seals.

Give it a little time to bed in. It will settle.

Im glad youre happy with your Perfetta.

    Enjoy!
