Mulling over these two for light domestic everyday use. Keen to improve my latte art.

    Which would you choose?

    Welcome Fudge...

I always reckon these are really strange questions. It like mulling over a Commodore v a Merc or something. They are two dramatically different machines at very different price points. The VBM is nearly 50% more than the BZ07.

I would have thought that a comparison between a DOmobar Super and Domus Galatea would be far more appropriate? *:-?

    Good luck- either way...

Just my 2 cents worth but the BZ07 seems like a kind of half-measure.

I vote the VBM. Yes its more expensive but I doubt you would ever regret owning it.

Not sure about 50%, I can pick the VBM for under $2,400. The Bezerra for a bit more than hundred dollars cheaper. I guess thats what Im asking. What would I get for the extra money?

The Galatea is considerably more expensive and too big for my bench.

Errrm, the VBM is humongous too :-? - perhaps not in width, but definitely in depth.

I have a BZ07 and absolutely loving it - needs good cooling flushes tho....i drink mostly milk based drinks too, and plenty of steam from this little fella - plenty of successful art too 8-)

VBM for under $2400? If you are confident there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and the supplier knows what he/she is doing, then thats a bargain! Keep in mind tho that most of our sponsors do packages (/w grinder + accessories), youll find that the prices are not too far off, plus the important thing is - they know what theyre doing. Try someone like Talk Coffee or something.

    good luck!

    gavin.

Had a customer tell me this recently. He showed me the website that was selling it claiming it as new. Asked the customer to check with the seller if it was the latest model and turned out that the new VBMs they had for sale were indeed new, though had been sitting in a box for the last 2 years!

Theres another seller that advertises seemingly cheap prices but neglects to mention the advertised price doesnt include GST (thats illegal).

    Grrr! >:(

Dennis - cant name the vendors here, apparently, but according to Crema Mag $2,399 is the RRP.

There is nothing wrong with the older model. Its a good machine once set up correctly.

The new model has had some functional and aesthetic changes that make it better.

If youre happy with a superseded model, willing to take the chance that its been set up properly, can get it for the price youve mentioned, are provided with training on the machine, and have confidence in the after-sales support, then theres probably nothing to hold you back.

    Cheers

but if you dont partner it with a capable grinder, expect not to get the most out of it.

the Domobar Super is a no-brainer preference at the same price. At the usual price differential, Id pick up a BZ07+K10 WBC in preference to a Domobar Super+Mini/M4
