Looks a nice machine in pics, here are some specs.
there is a big diff in boiler size from tanked to plumbed, i would look at the plumbed (rotary pump as well) and 1.8 boiler if it was me but then you need to plumb it.....

    Boiler capacity 1.05lt
    Heating-element 1.3kw
    Net weight 21.1kg
    Gross weight 23.9kg
    Power pump 48w

    Specifications: Treviso LX (Plumbed)
    W325xD470xH430
    Voltage 230V
    Boiler Capacity 1.8L

    Re: SANREMO - TREVISO

My search brought up one previous thread with only one response to it from 2mcm:

    http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1250990457/1#1

Doesnt seem to be a common machine in Australia (or perhaps even world wide) so the first question is regarding after sales support. Will spare parts and servicing be easy to access?

As Leeham points out the specs on the plumbed-in version seem quite good but that doesnt necessarily guarantee a good result in the cup.

Even if your dad can get this at an absolutely bargain price, he may be much better off in the long run with proven machine.
