I bought the delonghi prima donna purely for ease of use and the breville 820es that i had never made anything remotely drinkable. (I've since leanred thats because the breville grinder was crap and the pressurised baskets make it hard to get anything drinkable).

I've started using the breville again after getting the sunbeam conical grinder and getting an unpressurised basket and am starting to get somewhere but my wife still likes the delonghi.

My question is what can i use to clean the coffee infuser on the delonghi as all delonghi recommend is soak in hot water as detergent will dissolve the lubricant on the infuser. I've run the descaling solution through the machine but that actually bypasses to infuser and comes out the hot water spout, after makes about 2000 coffees I really believe there should be some way to properly clean the infuser not just hot water.

I'm running Campos through the machine and the beans are always put in whole and ground before use.
