    Giotto Not working

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
This is the 3rd time this has happened with my Giotto (3 years old). It starts making a small banging noise and then after a while it doesnt fill the boiler. When you turn it on, its like its trying to do turn something on like the pump but you just get this noise and nothing happens. Last time this occured about 6 months ago, I took it to a shop and they said it worked fine when they turned it on so they didnt touch it. It was like it fixed itself. So this time Im expecting it somehow to right itself but after a day it hasnt.

The first time it happened (12 months ago) the same shop (different person) said it was cutoff switch to do with the water level.

Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do ? Is there a repair person in melbourne for ECM s Giottos ? (Its not a warranty issue).

    Re: Giotto Not working

    Hi there
I have a Giotto machine, i purchased the unit off Chris at Talk Coffee.
They are one of the site sponsors, click the link on the side of this site to go to the Talk Coffee website and you will see their contact details.
Chris is very good to deal with, i had my machine back there the other week (under warranty) and there was no issues at all.
I have no problem in recommending him.

    Re: Giotto Not working

I had a problem with mine when i first got it, same as you are having, switch it on and nothing happened.
I opened it up and found a re-set switch and sure enough it had tripped.
I re-set it and has worked perfectly now for 3 years.
Just make sure it is turned off and unplugged from the power point before doing any of this

ps on another note, if you do open it up, you will also notice a wire that isnt connected, dont worry about this wire as its for the service guys only

SFW- look on the top of the boiler. You will see a small (2mm wide) red matchstick like knob protruding in the centre of a black bit.

Press this to reset your over temp cutout...NB- it will appear not to move ;)

    exactly as 2mcm said
remove the water tank, undo the 4 screws on the top pannel and pull it off then look for the little red knob
