ECM - Inhouse situation -production to continue?

Have recently been hearing ECM situation of internal affairs arent too healthy!

As a proud owner of a Giotto, that has been a workhorse in a work setting for the past 2 years - should we be concerned r/e spare parts/elements etc, if the company is too close production next year?

    Anyone heard similar/read reports.

    Cheers

No SCP- as a major supplier of ECM in Australia, I can assure you that supply will continue and 2008 will see dramatically improved stock levels. There have been changes at ECM and 07 has been incredibly frustrating but ongoing supply is assured.

For those who have been following this thread, the situation is as follows:

ECM Milan in 2007 decided to concentrate on commercial machinery. Rocket Espresso (NZ) teamed with ECM founders son to recommence production of the Giotto and Cellini out of Milan under the Rocket espresso brand.

Rocket have sold the Rocket e-61 aka Giotto Classic in NZ for many years.

The Giotto and perhaps (Cellini as well) will continue to be available in Australia. More information is available on the Rocket espresso site...

Re: ECM - Inhouse situation -production to continu

    FYI for those interested,

Charles Stephens of ECA sent an email to suppliers yesterday, part of which reads:

...As you may know, the Giotto is no longer manufactured by ECM, with Rocket Espresso Ltd now the proud manufacturers of this beautiful machine. They will ensure that the fine Giotto tradition is maintained and continued.

Rocket Espresso Ltd is based in Milan, Italy, and is owned and operated by Jeff Kennedy, Andrew Meo, and Daniele Berenbruch. *

Giotto are still being manufactured in the same specialty boutique factory in Milan and being overseen by Mr Andrew Meo with strict Quality Control and assembly standards (as when Giotto was produced by ECM), so please be rest assured that the brand quality will not be affected by the change in ownership, only improved and continued....

We bench tested our first few new Giottos yesterday- general impressions were that they are even better. I particularly liked the more easily adjustable OPV and the quality of finish on the front panel is better- now also chrome stainless steel...

Im looking forward to better supply in 2008 and feel that the Giotto is in good hands with Rocket...

    Hi Jim,

I wouldnt be holding my breath. as far as I know, Rocket Espresso have plans only for the Giotto at present.

I doubt that the Bott will be seen again in Australia....
